Senior PR Manager Science and Oncology Pipeline Communications (m/f)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as a spokesperson (m/f) for journalists and contact person (m/f) for external inquiries regarding Bayer Pharmaceuticals’ global innovation strategy including a special focus on the oncology pipeline
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of a global communication/ stakeholder engagement plan, including Bayer Pharmaceuticals’ key innovation messages to raise awareness amongst key external stakeholders
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of global PR plans around Bayer Pharmaceuticals’ oncology drug candidates in clinical development up to registrational Phase II studies
  • Plan and implement international PR concepts and events around the topic "Innovation at Bayer" to position the company in the media and public including press events, interviews, PR activities at scientific conferences, Innovation Days etc. with a focus on Bayer’s research areas (e.g. oncology, cardiovascular diseases, gynecology)
  • Develop external R&D and innovation communication materials to raise awareness for Bayer’s approach to innovation, such as interactive tools, educational material, press releases, reactive statements, FAQs, position paper
  • Identify appropriate R&D experts for storytelling and presentations in the media and public (including preparation of briefing documents, speaker notes, and media training for speakers)
  • Provide professional communication guidance and steer external communication as well as PR activities covering research and early development pipeline projects until start of clinical Phase III studies
WHO YOU ARE
  • University degree (Master) in life sciences and/or communications
  • Long-term experience in Corporate Communications, PR or communications agencies with concept writing, campaigning and multi-channel communication experience
  • Several years of experience in the biotech area or pharmaceutical industry with a high level understanding of the pharmaceutical market
  • Good knowledge in MS Office (e.g. MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex topics in a target group-tailored way
  • Strategic thinker (m/f) who takes delight in tapping into new fields without established routines and processes
  • Excellent project management skills as well as flexibility and willingness to take over responsibility
  • Passion for teamwork as well as ability to build networks and to identify opportunities that benefit the customer
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
