The candidate should demonstrate an exceptional potential to develop innovative research programs such as the development of modern microwave remote sensing of earth and planetary atmospheres. Candidates must also demonstrate scientific communication skills, enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research and collaboration within and outside the University of Bern. The candidate is expected to acquire third party funding, to contribute to the under­graduate and graduate teaching curriculum in Physics and the Graduate School of Climate Sciences and to direct Master and PhD students in their research within the Faculty of Science. Close cooperation with the Oeschger Centre of Climate Research (http://www.oeschger.unibe.ch) is expected.
