Jacobs University Bremen is seeking a dynamic individual to advance our transdisciplinary environment for learning, research and transfer.
The successful candidate is expected to play a prominent role in the further development of the discipline at Jacobs University and beyond.
Our ambition is to boost early careers, thus, the ideal candidate has an established track record of excellence in teaching and research in
the field of supply chain management, encompassing procurement and distribution management. Furthermore, experiences in applied projects with
industry partners is highly appreciated.
In line with Jacobs University’s transdisciplinary orientation, the candidate is expected to actively engage with scholars of
neighboring fields to overcome disciplinary borders. That is why expertise in analyzing large-scale data sets and/or innovative IT
solutions would be of particular interest.
Based on the development of outstanding research projects, she/he will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate education, in
particular: a) designing and delivering courses; b) supervising student projects; c) mentoring and supervision of undergraduate and
graduate students; as well as d) participating in transfer projects and applying for third party funding. The language of instruction
is English.
The applicant must hold a PhD degree in Engineering, Management, Applied Computer Science, Mathematics or other related fields at the
time of the application and will take responsibility, particularly in the programs Industrial Engineering & Management (B.Sc.),
as well as Supply Chain Engineering & Management (M.Sc.), offered within Jacobs University’s focus area “Mobility –
of people, goods, and information”. Moreover, it is highly appreciated if the candidate will also contribute to the program Data
Engineering (M.Sc.). An initial contract will cover three years. Following successful evaluation, tenure is possible.
