We are looking for a Professor with world-leading expertise in cognitive robotics to contribute to research in the Computing and Informatics Research Centre of the School of Science and Technology. This post is one of a number of strategic investments to help deliver Nottingham Trent University’s ambitious plans to expand research expertise in selected areas. Your research interests may complement existing areas of strength in computational intelligence and cognitive robotics/automation. We will also consider applications from experts in other complementary areas of robotics. You will also provide research leadership, enhancing the reputation of the Department of Computing and Technology. Nottingham Trent University is renowned for leading edge research, strong links with industry and its excellent teaching that shape lives and society. The Department’s leading-edge research in X-Ray imaging systems for airport security was recognised by a Queen’s Award for Further and Higher Education in 2015. The University is making multi-million pound investments in both buildings and equipment at our Clifton campus, an award-winning "green" campus. The newly opened ISTEC building has state of the art facilities for computer science, including high performance computing, a robotics suite for research, as well as isolated networks and mobile laboratories. Further strategic initiatives include interdisciplinary research in medical technology and at the engineering/ computer science interface. These plans are supported by two further buildings and related facilities on the Clifton campus, due for completion in 2019.
