PhD Student (f/m)The contract is currently limited to 2 years. The salary is according to the State of Saxony TV-L salary scales (50 %).
The research group studies the molecular mechanisms that control cancer stem cell properties in an effort to identify new predictive biomarkers and chemical compounds regulating tumor radiosensitivity for development of individualized cancer therapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the identification, analysis and validation of putative cancer stem cell markers by combining modern methods of molecular and cellular biology with genomics and proteomics approaches and with mouse models. Qualified applicant will perform irradiation study in vitro and in vivo to interpret significance of identified genes as prognostic markers for tumor radiosensitivity.
Master's degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or other appropriate qualifications
Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques
Experience in working with laboratory animals (mice) is desirable but no essential
Fluency in spoken and written English
Arranging for flexible working hours to find a balance between work and family life
Taking part in job-oriented educational course
Participation in the institution retirement plan
