Group Leader Position (m/f)
The Junior Research Group "Evolutionary drivers of microbe-microbe-plant interactions" will be installed at the Institute of
Microbiology, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, ideally bearing relation to other groups at the Friedrich Schiller University
and cooperating non-university research institutions (www.leibniz-hki.de
). The group will investigate drivers of
microbe-microbe interactions in complex microbial consortia and how these interactions impact community structure, especially with
regard to the influence on host plant health and fitness.
The group will be embedded in the highly integrative scientific network of the JSMC with access to state-of-art research facilities
and an outstanding scientific environment of university and non-university research institutions. Participation in teaching is expected.
The successful candidate will be an excellent, highly motivated postdoctoral scientist with a strong publication record and proven
leadership skills. He/she utilizes molecular and computational methodologies to study evolutionary aspects of molecular multi-organismic
interactions and integrates them on the level of systems biology. The group will be established in the topical context of the Graduate
School of Excellence ’Jena School for Microbial Communication’ (JSMC; www.jsmc.uni-jena.de
). International experience (e.g., postdoctoral
