The Institute for Pathology is seeking applications for a full-time

Scientist (f/m)

to be employed under a limited-time contract starting in April 2018 (third party funded, 31 March 2020).
As part of a nation-wide collaboration over three years, we will advance the molecular diagnostics of lung cancer and harmonise its standard across centres. The data generated in this context will be used to answer genetic questions in correlation with clinical characteristics.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Optimisation and advancement of next-generation-sequencing (NGS) approaches for the molecular diagnostics of lung cancer, including analytics of circulating tumor DNA
  • Development and application of NGS-based methods to determine mutation load and mutation profiles
  • Coordination and technical improvement of molecular diagnostics of lung cancer at other centres in Germany
  • Analysis of collected molecular data to identify differences across participating centres and clinical subgroups
Minimum qualifications:
  • Completed university education in biology or similar subject
  • Strong experience in the area of molecular genetics
  • Expertise in the area of NGS-based genomics, transcriptomics or epigenomics is desirable
  • Scientific interest in experimental methodology and tumor biology
  • Good team and communication skills, ability to work independently
Your salary will be based on TV-L depending on level of experience up to E13.
