Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Germany. The Institute for Innovation Management (IIM) at the Munich School of Management, LMU Munich, has multiple open positions for Research and Teaching Assistants.
About the Institute for Innovation Management (IIM)
The Institute for Innovation Management (IIM) at the Munich School of Management, LMU Munich, is currently being established by Professor Jelena Spanjol, focusing on high-quality, rigorous, and relevant research and teaching in the domain of innovation management. The institute’s principal tenets are interdisciplinarity, multimethodology, and academy-industry collaboration. Research pertains broadly to innovation motivations, capabilities, and behaviors among and at the intersection of organizations and customers/consumers.
As part of the institute, team members will contribute to productive research collaborations, leading to international conference presentations and journal publications. Team members will also participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching activities.
Initial appointments are for two years, with an option to extend, pending positive evaluation. Starting dates will be individually arranged, with earlier availability preferred. Remuneration follows the standard German pay scale (100%, TV-L 13).

Who We Are Looking For
Qualified team members will be characterized by intellectual curiosity, perseverance, and a strong interest in conducting and publishing theoretically-grounded, managerially-meaningful research. We are seeking individuals with outstanding organizational skills, proven collaborative and independent work competences, and excellent English and German communication abilities (written and oral). Research and Teaching Assistants will demonstrate a superior academic record and excellence in a completed university degree (Master or equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, or other domains relevant to innovation management and a strong motivation to conduct high-quality, internationally-oriented research. Methodological experience in one or more techniques (such as experimental design and analysis, ethnography/netnography, multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, and textual analysis, among others) is highly desirable.
