What you can expect:

You will start with an 8-12 month trai­ning at our research facilities in Ger­ma­ny, where you gain insight into BASF's methods and tools and start to set up your personal network in the R&D community. Afterwards you will work in Shanghai in an international team, either specialized in fluid pro­cess engineering, solid process engineering or reaction engineering. As (senior) research engineer you will work on R&D projects and develop new technologies. You will do basic en­gi­nee­ring for new plants and help en­hance the efficiency and productivity of production plants at BASF Asia Pacific through process optimization and debottlenecking projects. In addition, you will observe and evaluate tech­no­logy trends in the technical community and take care of the acquisition and definition of new projects. Therefore, you build up an excellent network within the BASF global research community, operational unit experts and en­gi­nee­ring.

What we expect:

You have earned an outstanding M.Sc. in Chemical or Process Engineering; a Ph.D. is welcome. You have in-depth expertise and on the job experience in the area of either fluid process en­gi­nee­ring, solid process engineering or reaction engineering. A very good com­mand of English (a TOEFL score of >95 or equivalent) is necessary for this role; special attention is given to can­di­dates with experience abroad. You are a strong, open-minded and creative personality who strives for achievement and likes to work in an international team. In addition, you enjoy being pro­ac­tive and taking responsibility. You have excellent analytical and com­mu­ni­cation as well as negotiation skills. Ac­ting as a connector and bringing to­ge­ther different experts in order to create value as one company com­ple­tes your profile.
