Research Assistant / Postdoc
M.Sc. (Physics / Biology) or Ph.D.
at the Bio-Imaging Center in
„Computational image analysis
in fluorescence microscopy“

The position includes primarily image processing and quantitative (3D) analysis (confocal, two-photon, TIRF, light-sheet microscopy, etc.), with specialized software (FIJI, Imaris, Arivis, Hyugens, Ilastik, etc.), as well as user training. Super-resolution approaches as well as specially tailored analysis pipelines for correct segmentation of challenging 3D objects play a major role.

Ideally, the candidate has experience in microscopy, a strong technical interest, and good computer skills. Programming skills, as well as previous knowledge in the field of high-resolution fluorescence microscopy are desirable. The willingness to deal with complex data sets, as well as good English skills are essential. A suitable candidate enjoys working with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

The salary is based on TV-L (Collective Agreement for the Public Service of German Federal States). The position is initially fixed-term, and can also be made part-time. Female scientists are particularly encouraged to apply. Disabled applicants will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualification.

Applications including cover letter, detailed CV, copies of certificates, and contact information of two referees, should be sent as a single pdf file (no more than 10 MB) via email to katrin.heinze@virchow.uni-wuerzburg.de until 1st March 2018.
