Advanced Research Assistant
An advanced research assistant position is available in the laboratory of Michaela Frye at the DKFZ in the research program of Cell Biology and Tumor Biology.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of research activities and organisational duties in the dynamic and newly formed research group and
closely interact with collaborating teams within the DKFZ and the University of Cambridge (UK).
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated candidate who is excited about setting up a new lab. This is an excellent opportunity for a
motivated and adaptable individual to support the cutting-edge science delivered within the program.
A strong knowledge in molecular and system-wide biology is required and experience in working with transgenic animals will be a plus, but even more
important is your motivation to learn and adapt to scientific challenges and become a positive member of the lab.
Other required skills:
Education as technical assistant (MTA, BTA) or laboratory assistant
Strong background in working with transgenic mouse models
Experience in using genome-wide approaches will be strongly valued
Fluent in English and German and good written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn new protocols and then run them independently
Ability to keep good up-to-date records and write standard operating procedures
Excellent organisational and communication skills
The position is limited to 2 years.
The position can in principle be part-time.
