Scope of the Role and Qualifications
• Research: The candidate should have a demonstrated track-record of/outstanding potential for conducting world-class research pertaining to sustainable business, corporate responsibility or related areas, such as public-private/cross-sector partnerships, hybrid organizations, social business, and stakeholder management. The candidate should be capable to publish in top-tier management journals and to acquire major research grants (e.g. from the EU or Swiss National Science Foundation).
• Teaching: The candidate should have experience in teaching foundational and advanced courses at all levels in the area of management (e.g. general management, human resources management/leadership, sustainability management).
• Executive education: The candidate should have experience and/or potential in teaching and leading executive education programs. In particular, the candidate is expected to contribute to those executive education programs for which corporate responsibility/sustainable business topics play a fundamental role (e.g. International Organizations MBA, Commodity Trading EMBA).
• Service to GSEM: The candidate is expected to engage in the GSEM’s community, to actively collaborate with its different stakeholders, and to contribute to the various initiatives of the Institute of Management.
The position will serve as a bridge between focal activities in GSEM that are of strategic relevance for the University of Geneva and the City and Canton of Geneva, such as the Center for Public-Private-Partnership, the UNCTAD-UNIGE Center for Sustainability, the International Organizations MBA and research and teaching programs in the area of international, non-profit management and corporate social responsibility.
