The junior professorship is to be funded in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The professorship is
offered under the precondition that funds are granted.

In collaboration with other Berlin universities and research institutions, various aspects of the digital transformation will
be explored. Within the Einstein Center Digital Future, new professors (m/f) will strengthen the academic community of
Berlin in the field of digitalization. In this context the Berlin University of the Arts has developed the Berlin Open Lab, a
space for reflection and research, and a place of experimental digital fabrication in the design disciplines. New forms of
interaction with technologies will be created and explored holistically as technological-economical-sociological artefacts.
Instruction and research on new forms of interactive clothing and embedded systems related to wearable
computing, interactive textiles and clothing concepts as new forms of human-technology interaction; development
of new types of interaction principles and testing with prototypes; artistic and academic reflection on new technologies
in the field of wearable computing, the Internet of things and Interaction Design considering current positions
in fashion design; establishment of the Berlin Open Lab at UdK cooperating with partners from the Einstein Center Digital
Future through new formats of teaching and research; participation in academic self administration.
Academic degree in design or a related discipline, completed doctorate or several years of artistic-academic
research experience in the field of design or a related discipline with very good proficiency in the field of fashion
technologies and/or interactive textiles (practical design, technological, methodical); comprehensive list of publications;
paedagogical and didactical skills and experience; experience in interdisciplinary and experimental design working
methods; very good English language skills. Qualifications for employment in accordance with § 102a BerlHG.
