The Institute for Pathology is seeking applications for a full-time
to be employed under a limited-time contract starting in April 2018 (third party funded, 31 March 2020).
As part of a nation-wide collaboration over three years, we will advance the molecular diagnostics of lung cancer and harmonise its standard across centres. The data generated in this context will be used to answer genetic questions in correlation with clinical characteristics. Your responsibilities will include:
Optimisation and advancement of the bioinformatics analyses of next-generation-sequencing (NGS) approaches for the molecular diagnostics of lung cancer
Development and application of NGS-based analyses in the area of genomics including the determination of mutation load and mutation profiles
Bioinformatics analysis of molecular diagnostics data of other centres in Germany to optimize and harmonise processes
Analysis of collected molecular data to identify differences across participating centres and clinical subgroups
Completed university education in bioinformatics, computer sciences, physics, mathematics, biology or similar subject
Strong experience in the area of NGS data analyses
Ability to program and experience working with Linux systems are a prerequisite
Knowledge of genomics, transcriptomics, or epigenomics is desirable
Good team and communication skills, ability to work independently
Your salary will be based on TV-L to E14.
