We are a research institute of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science.
The Munich Center for Economics of Aging (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute for Social
Law and Social Policy studies, evaluates, anticipates and accompanies the micro- and macroeconomic
aspects of demographic change. We are currently looking for a
Coordination Assistant in part-time (50%)
The position is limited to two years.
The coordination assistant will support the scientific coordinator in completing the administrative
tasks related to the day-to-day running of EU- and other third party-funded research
projects in which multiple scientific partners are involved. S/he will be integrated within the
Financial Unit at MEA and work under the direct supervision of the Head of Unit.
Administrative project management (incl. administrative preparation of grant applications,
reports and audits)
Monitoring the overall budget of approved projects (EU, DFG, etc.)
Ensuring effective communication between international project partners
University degree or similar in administration, economics or other social sciences
Experience in the administrative management of scientific projects
Sound knowledge of the administrative and financial regulations applying to EU-funded
research and projects
Excellent command of spoken and written English and German
Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications
Proven ability and willingness to a self-organized & highly proactive working style
Team player mentality, service-orientation and strong cross-cultural communication skills
The remuneration depends on the applicant's qualifications and is calculated according to the
collective agreement for the German civil service (TVöD Bund). In addition, social benefits
are granted in accordance with the regulations of the civil service. Place of employment is
