The main focus of the Division of Nephrology of the Department of Internal Medicine III (Head: Prof. Dr. med. Ch. Hugo; (http://www.nephrologie-dresden.org) is the diagnosis and treatment of renal diseases and hypertension. Nephrology is a division with a lot of research possibilities with national and international collaborations and includes a wide variety of basic and patient-based clinical research. Hereby, we aim to offer medical treatments to our patients which is always based on the latest evidence and to develop innovative therapies by our clinical and translational studies. The Clinic for Internal Medicine 3, Division of Nephrology, Linkermann Laboratory, focuses on clinically relevant cell death mechanisms and therapy.

We are looking for a new team member as a

Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m)

(part-time/full-time, TV-L, E13). The position is immediately available. The contract will initially be for 6 months with the possibility for extension in a growing research laboratory.

Our plan is to establish a postdoctoral research in our group with long-term contracts. We are looking for highly motivated applicants with a PhD or MD/PhD with interest in cutting edge cell death research. The successful candidate will focus on high quality cell culture work (western blotting, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, cloning etc.). If desired by the experienced applicant, in vivo work may be performed.

Our group focuses on the therapeutic potential of inhibition of regulated necrosis pathways, such as necroptosis, pyroptosis and ferroptosis, and the molecular and biochemical nature of these pathways. We are investigating these pathways to interfere with acute kidney injury (AKI), treat heart attacks and strokes, and to improve the acceptance of transplanted organs.
