Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) is one of the largest universities in Germany. At the Institute of Physics of Johannes Gutenberg University, more than 30 professors and 180 researchers work on a broad spectrum of scientific fields in fundamental research as well as in applied sciences. The institute employs a further 60 staff members as engineers, mechanics or in the administrative sector.
The research of the scientific working group ETAP in the field of experimental particle- and astrophysics is dedicated to an understanding the elementary building blocks of the universe and their fundamental interactions. Scientists of the working group participate in some of today’s most important experiments in this field worldwide. Within the framework of ETAP, the holder of this position will be member of the newly established group of Prof. Alfons Weber for neutrino research.
You take a leading role in the development and improvement of electronic components and equipment for the experiments of the research group. This includes the following tasks:
The position is paid according to EG 11 TV-L and to be filled as soon as possible. The position is permanent.
