The Faculty of Psychology and Sports Sciences of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, at the Chair of Developmental Psychology (led by Prof. Dr. Yee Lee Shing) is offering a position of

Postdoctoral researcher
(E13 TV-G-U)

starting 01.02.2018 for an initial duration of three years (full time).

The candidate will conduct research in the field of memory development and aging, using experimental and neuroimaging approaches. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related disciplines, and strong interests in neurocognitive development and long-term memory processes. Research in the laboratory uses a number of methods, including behavioural, physiological, eye tracking, and/or functional neuroimaging (fMRI) techniques. Previous experience with at least one of these methods (preferably a combination) is necessary. Computer programming skills (Matlab, Python, R) are highly desirable. Applicants should have excellent organizational skills, be highly motivated for research, enjoy teaching, and be able to communicate effectively, with outstanding writing ability. Previous teaching and/or supervisory experience with research assistants is desirable.

Besides research, the work agenda comprises teaching in the programs offered by Psychology (Psychology Bachelor of Science, Psychology Master of Science) and minor administrative duties. The candidate is expected to contribute to the research activities of the group with the goal of publishing her/his work in leading international peerreviewed journals.
