The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
in »Safety, performance and reliability for learning systems«
to begin in winter semester 2018/19. The position is a tenured W3 position. The professorship is endowed by Infineon Technologies AG.
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. It will constitute the core of a new Center of Competence for "Data Engineering and Learning Systems" together with other of the department‘s professorships. Further links exist to the Departments of Informatics and of Mechanical Engineering.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Safety, performance and reliability for learning systems with a focus on Resource Constrained Machine Learning and HW/SW-Architectures for Learning Systems. The teaching load includes courses in the university‘s bachelor and master programs.
We are looking for a candidate with high international reputation who has demonstrated an outstanding academic record and an internationally recognized research program. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
