The University of Potsdam, Faculty of Arts, Department
of Slavic Studies, invites applications for the following
position, to be filled by October 1st, 2021:
Full Professorship (W 3)
in Slavic Linguistics
The successful candidate will represent Slavic linguistics
in its full scope in both research and teaching and will
have research interests in Russian, Polish, and at least
one core area of linguistics. Work on an additional Slavic
language (preferably Ukrainian) is desired.
The professorship includes teaching and examination
responsibilities in the bachelor's and master's degree
programmes of the department (including but not
limited to the B.Ed. and M.Ed. in Polish and Russian, the
B.A. in Interdisciplinary Russian Studies and the binational
B.A. Applied Cultural and Translation Studies) as well as
interdepartmental master's programmes in linguistics
The successful candidate will be expected to participate
in the "Language, Variation and Migration" network at the
University of Potsdam, the faculty's Network "Digital
Humanities", and/or the University's research focus
"Cognitive Sciences" (CRC 1287 "Limits of Variability in
Language"). Research initiatives in the aforementioned
areas, experience in collaborative research and raising
third-party funds are desirable. The responsibilities
of the professorship also include contributing to the
further development of existing international university
partnerships and the establishment of new ones.
The hiring process is subject to the requirements set forth in Section
41 of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).
The appointment procedure will be conducted in accordance with Section 40 BbgHG.
