at Fraunhofer EMFT
to begin in winter semester 2018/19. The position is a tenured W3 position.
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Together with further professorships it shall build up a focus area for Sensors and Sensor Systems and strengthen TUM's expertise in this field. In cooperation with Fraunhofer EMFT a research focus shall be layed on the interface between newly developed sensors, sensor concepts and systems integration on the one hand as well as the subsequent industrial production process on the other hand.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Micro- and Nanosystems Technology with a focus on silicon technology and process integration as well as sensor design and integration. The teaching load includes courses in the university's bachelor and master programs.
As department head at Fraunhofer EMFT you will be responsible for research and development as well as technology transfer, and additionally for research strategy, project acquisition and management as well as human resource management.
We are looking for a candidate with high international reputation who has demonstrated an outstanding academic record and an internationally recognized research program. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
You possess long-term leadership experience in interdisciplinary research groups, experience in strategic planning, acquisition and implementation of national and international research and development projects in different business areas as well as expertise in the efficiency-enhancement of development processes and in technology exploitation. Professional experience in industries as well as international research experience are an advantage.
