The Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, of
the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University Bonn invites applicants for a
Full tenured Professorship (W3) in Microbiology
with a research focus on cell biology of bacteria, to be appointed at the Institute
of Microbiology & Biotechnology as of April 1st, 2020.
The successful candidate is expected to represent the full breadth of microbiology
in teaching. He/She should be internationally recognized in research and use
modern experimental methods to investigate topics such as cell division, cell
shape formation, cytoskeleton, lipid-membrane protein interaction, subcellular
organization and micro-compartmentalization, preferably in relation to biotechnological

Department of Biology and cooperate scientifically across disciplines. He/She
is encouraged to actively collaborate in existing priority research areas, in
particular in the topics "molecular basis of cellular dynamics" and "dynamic
change of cell structure".

lectures, seminars and practical courses as well as the development of new
