AWI INSPIRES
INternational Science Program for Integrative
Research in Earth Systems
AWI is recruiting more than 30 PhD candidates and Postdocs to strengthen its
contribution to the new research program “Changing Earth – Sustaining our
Future”. Application is now open in the following research areas:
- Climate and Geosciences (atmosphere, ocean, ice and land)
- Coastal systems
- Terrestrial Arctic ecosystems and permafrost
- Marine and polar life
- Marine bioeconomy (aquaculture)
- Marine data science (see also www.mardata.de)

All PhD candidates will become members of AWI’s postgraduate program
POLMAR and thus benefit from a comprehensive training program and extensive
support measures. Postdocs can register with AWI’s postdoc office PROCEED,
thereby gaining access to a set of tailored career development tools.
The place of employment will be Bremerhaven, Potsdam, Sylt or Helgoland,
depending on the respective research area and position.
