European Union-Latin America and Caribbean Foundation (EU-LAC Foundation)Hamburg
The European Union-Latin America and Caribbean Foundation (EU-LAC Foundation) is an international organisation of intergovernmental nature, established under public international law. The aim of the EU-LAC Foundation is to transform the strategic partnership between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean - adopted in 1999 - into a strenghtened and visible reality fostering active participation of the respective civil societies. With its headquarters in the city of Hamburg, Germany, the EU-LAC Foundation consists of 33 member states from Latin America and the Caribbean as well as 28 members states from the European Union and the European Union itself.
Internship at the EU-LAC Foundation
The internship programme of the EU-LAC Foundation gives students the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the bi-regional partnership between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, offering a unique working experience in an intergovernmental international organisation. The interns will assist the Foundation's professional team in their work processes and daily activities, enabling them to obtain experience in the implementation of projects, organisation of events, research, proofreading and translation of relevant documents and the updating of the Foundation's social networks, among other things.
Internships are offered to university students for a period of maximum three months, spread across four cycles a year. Internships must cover the length of an entire cycle. Deadline for the next internship cycle from 6th January - 31st March 2020 is the 20th of October 2020. The interns will assist the Foundation's professional team in their work processes and daily activities, enabling them to obtain experience in the implementation of projects, research, proofreading and translation of relevant documents, organisation of events and the updating of the Foundation's social networks, among other things.
Requirement for Applicants:
All applicants must be enrolled in an academic programme during the whole time of the internship
The candidates must be studying their Bachelor´s final year, post-graduate or Master´s programme.
Citizenship of the European Union (EU) or Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC)
The field of study would be preferably in political science, social science, legal sciences, European or Latin American studies, economics, communications, languages and translation or a related field.
Professional domain of English and Spanish: A recognition institute must certificate the candidate's level.
Demonstrating strength in research and/or data base management.
Working experience in a multicultural environment, as well as team working. Communication and writing skills are also desirable.
Demonstrating his/her abilities with the use and management of social media and software (Facebook, Twitter, Drupal, MailChimp, Flickr, Photoshop, Google Analytics, LinkedIn).
Fluency in other languages relevant for the Foundation
Previous experience in the administration of databases;
Knowledge and practical experience related to the bi-regional relationship between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Knowledge about the process of regional integration and regional institutions
Each intern will receive a monthly stipend of ?450 towards his/her maintenance and transport costs in Hamburg.
