The International Max Planck Research School for the Science of Human History (IMPRSSHH) is a joint venture of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History (MPI-SHH) and Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU) that will be built up in Jena as of 2018 for an initial funding period of six years. The overarching goal is to create a cross-disciplinary and inter­nationally appealing doctoral training program in the "Science of Human History" that pools the existing expertise and infrastructure of the MPI-SHH, FSU Jena and other relevant partners in order to attract the finest talents from all over the world. The IMPRSSHH will offer PhD students an innovative, cross-disciplinary training program that is structured, yet flexible, and that adheres to the highest standards in teaching and research. The IMPRSSHH encompasses areas such as (paleo)genetics, proteomics, linguistics, (bio)informatics, evolutionary science, phylogeography, (bio)archaeology, anthropology, earth sciences, cognitive science, and others.
