Junior Professorship in Information Systems - Digital Transformation and Strategic Information Management
(salary grade W 1)

The professorship is to be funded in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The professorship is offered under the reserve that the funds are granted.
The successful applicant will assume responsibilities in research and teaching in the area named above.

Appointment requirements are governed by Article 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
Candidates will have a successful track record of university teaching as well as excellent research activities in Business Information Systems (preferably internationally), especially in the areas of digital transformation and the effects of new technologies on human beings, companies and markets. She or he will have documented research experience in information management, e-business as well as service engineering, especially in the areas of business model innovation, product innovation and service innovation, mobile IT, social media, collaborative work, and the development of new application systems (mobility, health, among others). The junior professor will be familiar with current methods and discussions on Business Information Systems, especially concerning the topics of behavioral science, design science research and economic implications of new technologies in an interconnected and digital economy. She or he will have experience with interdisciplinary work in the context of third party funding, and have research experience with companies. Additionally, the appointee will have excellent English language skills.
The professorship is part of the newly established Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF). The selectee will be involved in interdisciplinary research groups that are concerned with the topics digital industries and services, digital humanities and society, and digital health. The junior professor will contribute to the teaching in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs of the Department of Business Information Systems at the School of Business & Economics. Additionally, she or he will also participate in the research and teaching at the Einstein Center Digital Future. Addressing Gender and Diversity approaches is required.
The junior professor will be appointed as a civil servant for an initial period of three years. Reappointment is contingent upon positive evaluation of performance and may be extended for three more years.
