German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE)Bonn
The German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) investigates the causes of diseases of the nervous system and develops strategies for prevention, treatment and care. It is an institution within the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres with nine sites across Germany (Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten). The DZNE cooperates closely with universities, their clinics and other research facilities.
The Rhineland Study, a large-scale, population-based long-term study, is conducted in Bonn. The aim of this epidemiological study is to investigate the causes and preclinical biomarkers of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases as well as the investigation of normal and pathological brain structure and function across the lifespan in adults. The infrastructure of this unique study currently comprises two research centres in Bonn. They are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for comprehensive health examinations, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and have access to a modern bio bank and large data storage facilities.
For the two Rhineland Study examination centres, we are looking for a
Leading Centre Coordinator (f/m)
Ensuring smooth operation, quality control and quality assurance in both examination centres of the Rhineland Study
You coordinate and organize the processes in the examination centres and perform managerial tasks with confidence in your decision-making
You participate in planning, implementation and monitoring of centre processes as well as training and certification programmes for study assistants
You are the link between the examination centres, management and scientists of the Rhineland Study
On the basis of centrally prepared standard operating procedures (SOPs), you monitor the regular and professional execution of the examinations through regular supervision and you initiate any necessary measures
You ensure identical processes in parallel operation of the two examination centres
You have an university degree in Science (Biology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Psychology or a comparable relevant discipline), PhD is welcome, but not a prerequisite. You have experience with epidemiological studies or large-scale clinical trials. You are pragmatic and solution-oriented and combine an analytical way of thinking with great social competence. You also have management and leadership experience, excellent organisational skills and are resilient. You enjoy working independently in a team and have an excellent communication style in dealing with all employee groups. You have excellent knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written.
Collaboration in an exciting research project with a long-term perspective in an interdisciplinary team.
Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector Collective Agreement (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst). The position is initially offered to 2 years, with the option of extension.
