The research group "Biobased & Bioinspired Materials" at Paderborn University, Faculty of Natural Sciences, offers a position as
Post-Doctoral Researcher
(pay scale 13 TV-L)
at full time employment (100 %). The position is according to the german Wissen­schaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG) and aims for scientific qualification in the area of project management. It is temporary, depending on the actual qualification, usually for 1.5 years, which is considered suitable for the qualification aim. In principle, an extension is possible.
The project:
The respective project has been chosen as laureate of the "Research Award 2017" of the Paderborn University. The award is meant for radically new research ideas with clearly defined social gain, high application potential and strong multidisciplinarity.
The project topic considers biomimetic abstraction of enzymatic processes for a highly innovative, technical application.
About us:
We are a highly motivated research group on the threshold of chemistry, biochemistry, and materials science. We define ourselves by high scientific standards as well as a strong relation to applications.
Focus of our research projects is the combination of biological motifs with materials applications. In this context, we go beyond the aspect of sustainability and consider aspects of bioinspired functionality, biomimetic structures, and enzymatic catalysis.

About you:
  • You have scientific training with concluded PhD in the area of biochemistry or related disciplines.
  • You gained excellent and extensive knowledge on the topic of enzymatic reactions.
  • You already possess expertise in independent research and the application of research grants.
  • You describe yourself as highly motivated and enthusiastic for the task of developing a completely novel and prestigious research topic with high practical relevance.
