Chair for Pulmonary Infections, Department of Medicine II, Faculty of Medicine, invites applications for
two
PhD students
The positions are available at the earliest possible date until September 30th, 2021. In agreement with current regulations, the positions are each on the TV-H E13 scale (50 %) for public employees.
The projects are part of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL), disease area Pneumonia and Acute Lung Injury and aim to develop new approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of severe lung diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated PhD students who want to contribute to cutting-edge research with a focus on analyses based on molecular biology methods and preclinical models.
- The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and conducting scientific experiments with the goal to prepare a peer reviewed paper.
Requirements:
- Full university education in biology, biochemistry, medicine or veterinary medicine, or equivalent
- Experience with molecular biology methods, single cell analyses, cell culture, preclinical models in infection biology or experimental lung research
- Excellent English language skills and the desire to work in a dynamic international team
- The candidates should be autonomous and self – initiative. The work site will be at the Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen.
