Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI) stands for highest standards in teaching, research and knowledge transfer. Its six faculties Design and Art, Minden Campus, Engineering and Mathematics, Social Sciences, Bielefeld School of Business and Health work in an interdisciplinary, research-based and closely linked manner. Regional and international cooperation as well as practised diversity and sustainability shape the work at the campuses in Bielefeld, Minden and Gütersloh.
Based west of Cologne-s city centre close to the Dutch border, the company
MYBOTSHOP has taken up activities in the field of robotics, in particular ROS-based systems, in 2018. Due to the complexity of the distributed products and a constantly increasing demand for robotics all-in-one solutions for research purposes, the company focuses on system integration for universities and research institutes.
As part of the “
Career@BI- project, in cooperation with
MYBOTSHOP GmbH, the
Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics seeks to fill a tandem position as
Post Doc
Bipedal Robotics, Modern Robotic Drives
The project aims to promote young researchers and qualify suitable candidates for a professorship at a university of applied sciences or for an executive R&D role in industry. As part of the tandem position, you will gain practical professional experience and get to know the routines at a university of applied sciences. Accompanied by your mentors from the university and the partner company, you will also add to your teaching and research experience, take part in qualification offers and thus enhance your profile for a future appointment as professor at a university of applied sciences.
In addition, HSBI and MYBOTSHOP GmbH have set themselves the joint objective of developing lightweight, highly integrated robotic drive systems in the application of walking machines and exoskeletons at the interface of fundamental and applied research. These drives, known as smart actuators (BLDC motor incl. transmission and power and control electronics) within the community, are already used in numerous robotic systems today. We would like to expand our expertise in the area of bipedal robots. To make this vision a reality, both parties will provide the candidate with the greatest possible resources
The employment will be 74.9% with HSBI and 25.1% with MYBOTSHOP GmbH, with a majority of working hours spent at one of the locations in Bielefeld or Bergheim (Cologne). By agreement and depending on project progress, flexible work-on-the-move periods will be possible. Teaching can take place in compact courses or in hybrid format with regard to the project.
