PostDoc Position in Blockchain

PostDoc position in distributed ledger technologies and blockchain systems as part of a multidisciplinary university collaboration at the IT University of Copenhagen
The Business IT Department at the IT University of Copenhagen invites qualified applications for a two-year PostDoc position in the area of distributed ledger technologies and blockchain systems. The proposed starting date is July 2020 or soon thereafter. The employment will be placed at ITU, while the candidate will be attached to at least one more university to strengthen collaboration among DTU Compute, ITU, DIKU, and CBS Department of Digitalization. The aim of the new position is to enhance multidisciplinary research in digital technologies.

PostDocs will spend 20% of their time on multidisciplinary digital innovation projects and activities. You will gain unique access to leading resources in digitalization and play a key role in strengthening Denmark's digital innovative scene, business and practice-oriented collaboration across researchers, businesses and students, as well as in ensuring the practical application and applicability of research in distributed ledger technologies and blockchain systems.

Job Description
The PostDoc will support the activities at the European Blockchain Center at ITU and conduct own research projects. According to several rankings, the EBC is one of the globally leading research centers for distributed ledger technologies and blockchain systems. Apart from conducting research, the EBC is part of the Blockchain Business Bridge to Shanghai, China, where we run accelerator programs, as well as rolling out a National Blockchain Academy. The possibilities is given to contribute to international Blockchain standardization as well as European development of a Blockchain services infrastructure. An active contribution to support the flagship event, the International Blockchain Summer School, is expected.

Research Qualification Requirements
Candidates should have a PhD degree (or equivalent) within business informatics, information systems, computer science, or other related disciplines. If you are close to completing your PhD studies, your application is considered. You need to be able to illustrate your strong interest in distributed ledger technologies and blockchain systems and how they will shape the future innovations and business society.

It is highly desirable that the applicant is willing and able to actively and positively contribute to our interdisciplinary research environment. The IT University also carries out teaching and research in a range of other areas, including digital culture, digital media and communication, computer games, interaction design, pervasive interaction technology, technologies in practice, software engineering, theoretical computer science, and information systems management.

  • Documentation of academic degrees (copy of degree certificates etc.)
  • Copies of max. 5 different publications that are relevant to the position
  • A numbered list of publications. The enclosed publications should be marked with an asterisk (*)
  • Documentation of pedagogical experience and teaching record within one or more of the teaching areas listed for the position

The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a teaching and research-based tertiary institution concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. The IT University has more than 160 full-time Faculty members. Research and teaching in information technology span all academic activities which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact and the commercialization of IT.

Salary
Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance's agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
