Postdoctoral position in political science/international politics (f/m/d)

Reference number 2021/001. The start date is April 1, 2021. The position is available until March 31, 2023. In principle, this position can be divided into two part-time positions.The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.
The advertised position is located at the University of Konstanz in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, Chair of International Politics. The tasks include teaching of two courses per semester (4 SWS) in German and English at BA and MA levels with a focus on EU studies or on ethnic conflict and inequality. There will also be the opportunity to expand your own research agenda, preferably in the same area.
Your responsibilities
- Regular teaching of two classes per semester, i.e., 4 hours per week (4 SWS)
- Continuation of own research agenda, i.e., publishing and grant applications
- Participation in the Department’s activities, such as lecture series
Your Competencies
- A very good doctorate in political science
- A specialization in international or comparative politics, preferably in the field of EU studies or conflict research
- A good command of quantitative and qualitative social science methods
- Independent publications in international journals
- German and English language skills, written and spoken
