For our Berlin Campus we are currently seeking a part-time

Professor of Acting (for Theatre and Audiovisual Media)

As Professor of Acting for Theatre and Audiovisual Media you will teach at the undergraduate level, be involved in course and/or curriculum (Bachelor of Arts) development, engage in research/scholarship, participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives. This part-time position will serve to help build and shape a growing major program which is a collaboration between the renowned French acting school Cours Florent and Macromedia University. The College seeks an artist and scholar in the Theatre Program who specializes in Acting.

Job Duties

• Teaching responsibilities between 10 and 20 hours/week;
• Hold office hours as required and meet with students by appointment;
• Coach and mentor students of diverse levels of proficiency in classes and projects;
• Participate in committees as assigned, attend school and program meetings;
• Actively participate in recruitment activities; Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent with related experience in Theatre or Film and/or prominent professional credits, including experience in teaching acting at the college level or in a conservatory setting;
• A substantial and sustained body of artistic theatre and or film practice and production credits;
• One additional area of specialization, e.g. acting for the screen, dramaturgy, theatre history and theory, theatre education, theatre production or stage design, stage combat or dramatic structure and playwriting;
• A commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, students and staff from diverse backgrounds is essential;
• An ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning;
• Teaching in English and German is required, French language proficiency will be as well a great asset.
