For our Berlin Campus we are currently seeking a full- or part-time
Professor of Acting (for Theatre and Audiovisual Media) (m/w/d)
As Professor of Acting for Theatre and Audiovisual Media you will teach at the undergraduate level; be involved in course and/or curriculum (Bachelor of Arts) development; engage in research/scholarship; participate on College and Uni-versity committees and/or initiatives. This full-time or part-time position will serve to help build and shape a growing major program which is a collaboration between the famous French acting school Cours Florent and Macromedia University. The College seeks an artist and scholar in the Theatre Program who specializes in Acting. The successful candidate's philosophy and approach should be primarily informed by an Cours Florent actor trainer, while candidates whose approaches also in-clude other traditions or methods are encouraged to apply.
Teaching responsibilities between 9 and 18 hours/week
Hold office hours as required and meet with students by appointment;
Coach and mentor students of diverse levels of proficiency;
Directing stage productions with students;
Participate in committees as assigned, attend school and program meetings;
Actively participate in recruitment activities;
Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree or equivalent with related experience in Theatre or Acting and/or prominent professional credits, including excellence in teaching acting at the college level or in a conservatory setting;
A substantial and sustained body of theatre practice and production credits, in addition to strong evidence of con-temporary stage directing and pedagogical practices;
One additional area of specialization, e.g. acting for the screen, dramaturgy, theatre history and theory, theatre ed-ucation, devised theatre, production design, stage combat, or dramatic structure and playwriting;
A commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from diverse backgrounds is essential;
An ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning.
Teaching in German and English is required, French language proficiency will be as well a great asset.
