We seek to appoint a junior scientist with excellent potential for high
standard national and international research on ecologically oriented
urban development. Scientific focus should encompass the transformation
of grey into green-blue infrastructures, storm water management,
flood control and prevention, conversion and remediation of contaminated
sites as well as the adaptation of urban spaces to climate change.
The requirement is a university degree in the field of spatial planning or
related disciplines. Responsibilities include research and teaching. The
teaching load includes courses in the bachelor and master programs with
up to six hours per week during the semester.
This vacancie is to be filled before the summer semester 2019. The
position is offered for a period of six years pursuant to § 64 Para. 3 and
4 Hessian Higher Education Act (HHG) with an assessment in an evaluation
procedure to become a permanent W2 Professorship thereafter.
According to § 64 Para. 3 HHG, the applicant should have gained a
doctoral degree at an institution of higher education other than
Geisenheim University (GU) or have been in academic employment at an
institution other than GU for at least two years after conferral of a doctoral
degree. The duration of post-doctoral employment should normally not
exceed four years. Conditions of employment are based on § 62 HHG.
Proficient knowledge of German language is expected.
