Faculty of Science, Institute of Nutritional Science at the
University of Potsdam invites applications for the following position to be filled by April 1, 2025:
Professorship (W2) for Biochemistry of Nutrition
The successful applicant will be internationally renowned for high-ranking publications and acquisition of third-party funding. The applicant should have a research specialization in the field of “Molecular Mechanisms of Nutrition-Dependent Homeostasis and Dysfunction.” The research topic should complement the current research activities at the Institute of Nutritional Science and the cooperating Leibniz Institutes, namely the German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE) and the Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ). Furthermore, cooperation is anticipated with the Institutes of Chemistry and Biochemistry & Biology
at the University of Potsdam, as well as with the Faculty of Health Science, which is a joint faculty of the University of Potsdam, the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane, and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. Leadership experience and experience in the coordination of research projects is desired.
The applicant must be able to comprehensively cover the syllabus of biochemistry of nutrition within the bachelor’s and master’s programs in nutritional science, as well as the international master’s program in toxicology. Non-German-speaking appointees are expected to acquire proficiency in German sufficient to be able to interact with all colleagues, students and staff within two years
