The Institute of Education (IfE) at the Faculty of Educational and Social
Science (FB 6) of the University of Münster, Germany, wishes to appoint a
Professor (W2) of Educational Science
with specialisation in school pedagogy:
inclusive education
The professorship is available from the soonest possible date and is
situated at the Institute of Education (IfE) in the working group "School
Pedagogy/Schooling and Teaching Research".
The professorship was established as part of the "Qualitätsoffensive
Lehrerbildung" (QLB) with the goal of providing prospective
teachers with the theoretical fundamentals and professional skills
to develop and reflection scholastic forms of inclusive education.
The professorship should be based on a broad understanding of
inclusion and consider the myriad dimensions of diversity. The
professionalisation of prospective teachers in all subject areas with
respect to inclusion of school children with special needs should be
the focus of research and teaching.
The candidate should possess an empirical research background
in educational sciences with specialisation in the area of inclusion
in schools and classroom instruction. Experience with applying for
and securing third-party financing and involvement in international
research/teaching activities is desired.
The candidate will be required to conduct courses in the relevant
modules of the teaching degree programmes and other teachingoriented
bachelor's and master's degree programmes. The candidate
should participate in the further conceptual development of IfE
degree programmes in the context of the "Teacher Education Quality
Offensive" (QLB), supervise students during their in-school practical
phases, administer examinations and engage in academic selfadministration.
The candidate is expected to participate in the "Teacher Education
Quality Offensive" (QLB) as well as collaborate with the other
participating departments at the IfE, the sub-disciplines of educational
science, subject didactics and specialist disciplines. Furthermore,
cooperation with the NRW State Competence Centre for Individual
Promotion (LKZI) is desired.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- an above-average, thematically relevant university degree
- an outstanding, thematically relevant doctoral degree (magna cum
laude or better)
- exceptional academic achievements in the relevant field while
employed as an associate professor (Juniorprofessur), pursuing a
habilitation or working as an academic staff member at a university
or non-university research institute, or working in a research position
in business, industry, administration or other relevant social fields
in Germany or abroad.
