In der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Ruhr-Universität Bochum ist zum 01.10.2021 eine W2-Professur für Fundamentaltheologie zu besetzen.

Die zukünftige Stelleninhaberin/der zukünftige Stelleninhaber soll in Forschung und Lehre das Fachgebiet Fundamentaltheologie vertreten. Vor dem Hintergrund des Forschungsprogramms der Fakultät, das Theologie kontextuell verortet, sind eine interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit insbesondere mit den religionsbezogenen Wissenschaften und mit den Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften sowie die Entwicklung von neuen Forschungsperspektiven gefordert. Ein abgeschlossenes Studium der Katholischen Theologie, eine Theologische Promotion, Habilitation oder eine positiv evaluierte Juniorprofessur bzw. gleichwertige wissenschaftliche Leistungen mit einschlägig fundamentaltheologischem Profil, welches die ökumenischen, interreligiösen und interkulturellen Herausforderungen der Theologie in der säkularen Wissensgesellschaft heute mit in den Blick nimmt, sowie der Nachweis besonderer Eignung für die akademische Lehre werden ebenso vorausgesetzt wie die Bereitschaft zur Mitwirkung in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung.

PROFESSORSHIP (TENURE) OF FUNDAMENTAL THEOLOGY (SALARY SCALE W2)

The Faculty of Catholic Theology at Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications for the position of a Professor (tenured) of Fundamental Theology (Salary Scale W2) to start on October 1st, 2021.

The professor will represent the discipline of Fundamental Theology in research and teaching. The professor is expected to engage in interdisciplinary research with scholars in the fields of Theology and Religious Studies as well as in the Cultural Studies and Social Sciences in order to open new lines of research within the context of the Faculty's research program.

Candidates are required to hold a degree in Catholic Theology, a doctorate in Theology, and a post-doctoral qualification (Habilitation, positive evaluation as a junior professor or an equivalent academic qualification) with a clear specialization in Fundamental Theology that takes into account the ecumenical, interreligious, and intercultural challenges of theology in today's secular knowledge societies. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate an aptitude for academic teaching and a willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of the Faculty and the University.

Candidates must meet the conditions of employment of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NW; www.rub.de/appointments), section 36 et seq.

We expect furthermore:

• a strong commitment to academic teaching and advanced teaching skills at university level;
• a readiness to participate in interdisciplinary research;
• an internationally visible track record in fundamental theology;
• the willingness and the proven ability to attract third-party funded research projects.
