The Max Planck Unit for the Science of Pathogens (to be established) of Max Planck Director Prof. Emmanuelle Charpentier is seeking a
Project Manager (m/f)
for a full-time employment (39 hours/week) of initially 2 years.
The Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology is an international research institute with approximately 250 employees,
working in the field of immunology and infectious diseases. A special focus lies on identification of relevant pathways
during the infection of pathogenic bacteria.
Management and maintenance of non-scientific and scientific data, documents and reports
Development and establishment of tools for the handling, storage and preservation of internal and external scientific data and reports
Correspondence in German and English (letters of support, communication with and requests from sub-party funding organisations, universities, research institutions, tech transfer offices…)
Grant application and management including personnel data and contract management, and budget planning
Intellectual Property strategy and management
Standard organizational support of the scientific business and work flow within the department
Support in the organization of conferences, workshops, seminars and meetings
Support in the preparation of presentations and reports (graphical and writing support)
PhD in Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology and/or Molecular Biology
An additional degree, experience or training in management is considered an advantage
A proven record of successful publications in respected international scientific journals
An international post-doctoral experience abroad is considered as an advantage
Expertise in scientific coordination is considered an advantage
Excellent competence in software applications (office, database manager, reference and bibliography manager)
An indispensable requirement for the candidate is to speak and write in excellent English and German
Friendly disposition, confident and responsible work ethics
Working independently and as part of an international team
Openness and interest in learning new tasks, ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines
Excellent organisational skills, ability for structured work and taking personal initiatives
Self-motivated and enthusiastic to work in a competitive, dynamic, stimulating and interacting international scientific environment focusing on basic biological research
According to the training, qualifications and professional experience, the remuneration is EG 13 TVöD. The benefits
