The Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL) in Leipzig is currently looking for a:
Project Manager (65 %) (subject to project approval)
to support the building of a European research consortium in the area of geography/geographic visualisation/cartography. The consortium aims at developing a
Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) project proposal (under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) in the European Research Framework Programme
Horizon 2020). The project proposal (working title: Cyberatlas 2.0) will focus on developing international and inter-sector collaboration/exchanges for
European specialists to support research and development of next generation geovisualisation and atlases. The preparation of the project proposal is funded
by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) (directive MOEL-SOEL).
It is the project manager's role to provide support to the project coordinator in developing and coordinating the establishment of the consortium as well as
the project proposal including the general administration and day-to-day management of the proposal writing process. Furthermore, the project manager is
responsible for project documentation and reporting.
The IfL is an independent research institute with currently around 80 employees and member of the Leibniz Association. It is financially supported by the
Free State of Saxony and the Federal Republic of Germany through the framework for joint research support.

possibilities to bring in your own suggestions in the context of building a consortium and preparing a RISE proposal
compensation according to the regulations for level 13 TV-L
build a consortium together with the project leader
prepare a Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) proposal under Horizon 2020 with the consortium including financial planning; aim of the research project is the exchange of European staff for the development of prospective forms of atlases
construction and development of the network by means of a collaborative online platform
conception and preparation of workshops
coordination of project partners' activities and editorial collaboration for the topical and formal creation of a research proposal in English
editorial finalisation of scientific presentations for workshops and publication of these in an edited volume
provide administrative support, including writing, editing and distributing of notices, agendas and mi-nutes
draft, prepare, archive and submit project documentation, including reports to the funding agency
completed Master’s degree in Geography or related discipline
experience in developing project proposals, preferably under Horizon 2020
project management experience, preferably of EU projects
good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills (both English and German) to effect and maintain good partnership collaboration
ability to prioritise own workload and work to specified deadlines under pressure
ability and flexibility to react adequately to changes in the project plan or to partner/EU requirements
ability to calmly and efficiently approach and meet project and partner demands and deadlines
excellent command of German and English, knowledge of other (east-)European language(s) advanta-geous
