Join us at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, Germany, an internationally leading research institute dealing
with the fundamental challenges of artificial intelligence (AI). Our scientists are engaged in the research fields of machine learning,
computer vision, and robotics. Together with partners from academia and industry, we have established one of Europe's largest research
partnerships in AI: Cyber Valley, which is fostering a dynamic ecosystem for technology transfer and startups.
Your area of responsibility includes PR activities for our institute and for the Cyber Valley initiative. In particular the tasks include the following:
Writing of press releases on current research in both German and English
Coordinating and responding to press inquiries
Editorial processing of articles for domestic and international newspapers, popular magazines, the lay press, and websites
Creation and maintenance of PR-relevant content on our public websites, internal websites, flyers, and brochures
Our social media channels
Support of outreach events and other PR activities
Support of delegations and visitors
Successfully completed higher education, ideally complemented by a journalist qualification
Training and professional experience in scientific communication is preferred, ideally in the field of science and technology.
Willingness to learn about AI research
Experience in journalism and an understanding of how the different media outlets (TV, radio, newspaper, online) work
Excellent knowledge of German and English (at least C1 level in both languages) with strong written and oral communication
Ideally, being familiar with a network of journalists and newspaper editorial offices both domestically and internationally
Organizational skills and practical experience with outreach events
High quality standards and attention to detail
Experience with content management systems and knowledge of photography and video creation would be an advantage
Proactive, self-sufficient, reliable, and friendly behavior
We are looking for someone with passion for the research that we do and with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced research environment. We ask for high flexibility,
great social skills, and a true team player. Salaries will be based on experience according to TVöD guidelines. An initial contract will be offered for two years,
and subsequent extension is envisioned. This is a full-time position. The main work location will be at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen.
