The LfB performs research in Image Analysis, Computer Vision, Feature Extraction, Pattern Recognition and Deep Learning, especially for biological, medical and industrial image data. Research funding is provided by national funding entities (DFG, BMBF, BMWi, AiF), EU research programs (INTERREG), as well as by industry partners.
The LfB invites applications for a PostDoc position in the area of Deep Learning and Image Analysis for Digital Pathology.
Your Profile
Applicants must have a doctorate/Ph.D. or equivalent.
Applicants must have a doctorate / PhD or equivalent. • PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or similar, with excellent results. • Strong skills in state-of-the-art image processing and machine learning / deep learning techniques. • Research-oriented; strong track record of top-tear conference and/or journal publications. • Leadership capabilities for small project teams (BSc and MSc as well as PhD students). • Willingness to acquire new R&D projects and to collaborate with clinical partners • Excellent communication skills, team player. • High proficiency in oral and written English. German is beneficial but not necessarily required.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform independent research projects in the above area, with focus on one or more of the following research domains: • Stain normalization • Stain translation • Analysis of multplexing data • Pathomics for kidney histology • Augmentation for digital pathology (e.g. multi-channel Cycle-GAN) • Interact with our research and clinical partners • Contribute to LfB´s teaching program • Contribute to LfB´s management and administration activities
What We Offer
The position is for 2 years and is to be filled at the earliest possible date.
This is a full-time position.
The salary corresponds to pay grade EG 13 TV-L of the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
