Research Scientist (m/f/d) for high-field NMR-spectroscopy
The ICBM is an interdisciplinary research institute, for fundamental and applied marine research. The internationally renowned institute aims at understanding the function of
marine environmental systems through close cooperation of the various scientific disciplines (chemistry, biology, physics, mathematical modelling) of its more than 20 research
Operate and scientifically manage our new high-field NMR facility (800 MHz liquid state NMR with various cryogenic probes).
Develop new NMR applications for the analysis of complex structures and molecular organic mixtures in solutions from chemical, biological and environmental samples.
Participate in national and international research alliances and seek intensive cooperation, externally and within the School of Mathematics and Science at the University of Oldenburg from a broad range of disciplines, including geochemistry, biochemistry, applied chemistry, medicine, and data science.
Advise students, peers and visiting scientist.
Teaching of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses with a moderate teaching load of six semester-hours per week.
Presentation of results in project meetings, national and international conferences and in scientific journals.
Required skills and experience:
PhD (or equivalent) in analytical chemistry or related fields.
Postdoctoral research experience and record of scientific publications in high-field NMR spectroscopy and the investigation of complex structures in solution.
International profile, e.g. through extended research stays abroad.
Ability for and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary, international team and to communicate with external partners.
