Survey Specialist (f/m)
Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy
The ‘Munich Center for the Economics of Aging‘ (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy offers a full time position for an experienced
to join the Operations Department. The position is limited to a maximum of two years.
The responsibilities would consist of multiple tasks related to the implementation of wave 8:
Being a liaison to survey agencies for requesting deliverables and scheduling national training sessions, and any business to do with keeping survey agencies on track with our tight time lines
Provide technical assistance in software testing to MEA team and Centerdata
Help with conceptual development of software (mostly the SMS and SD)
Provide assistance in the international record linkage project managed at MEA
Take part in the Train-The Trainer sessions
Conduct own research with SHARE data
The ideal candidate would bring the following qualifications:
university degree in social sciences, economics, public health, epidemiology, demography, statistics, or a related field (with or without PhD)
Extensive experience with managing SHARE in a participating country, ideally experience in testing SHARE survey software and/or translating the questionnaire
excellent command of spoken and written English, good skills in additional languages used in SHARE will be considered a plus
extensive knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistical software (STATA, SPSS, etc.) and MS Office applications
track record of self-organized & highly proactive working style
team player mentality with proven management experience
interest in own research on substantive or methodological topics (willingness to pursue a PhD for pre-doc applicants)
