Your responsibilities
Imputation is a crucial step in the analysis of human genetic data and underpins the vast majority of the discoveries in human disease genetics to date. We are looking for a candidate to work on implementing a publicly available imputation server in Munich. This will require:
- Software and web development
- Set up and maintenance of a publicly available web server
- Work on optimising the workload
Your qualification
The candidate should be able to communicate efficiently with people of different horizons, including scientific staff, IT personnel and research management. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with an interest in building an EU server, required so as to allow studies to continue to be compliant with GDPR.
Your profile
- A degree in computer science, bioinformatics or related computational field
- Good coding skills (e.g. C, Perl, Python or Java)
- Experience of setting up administering secure web servers
- Familiarity with Unix and high performance computing environments
- Proficient English language skills (both written and spoken)
- Experience with genotype imputation is desirable
