At the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna the position of a
(full-time position) is to be filled.
Applicants are expected to have expert knowledge and experience in experimental accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) with an interest in ultra-low-level detection of isotopes and radionuclides in the environment.
The successful candidate will develop their own line of research, bridging new methodologies and applications. This may comprise for instance new isobar suppression techniques based on ion-laser or ion-molecule interactions to elucidate the production and distribution of natural and anthropogenic isotopes. The research would include multi-isotopic fingerprints to improve the understanding of physical processes on Earth. Experience in interdisciplinary and international research cooperation is highly desired.
