The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is the largest Austrian institution of mathematical research and tertiary education in the mathematical sciences. It consists of active research groups in a wide range of fields, starting from logical foundations, bridging all classical core subjects, and up to concrete applications in industry. As part of the Faculty, the Institute of Mathematics represents the entire discipline of mathematics in research and teaching, without making an arbitrary separation into pure and applied fields.
Duration of employment: 2 month/s
Extent of Employment: 40.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
The advertised post doc position is part of the Doctoral Program "Dissipation and Dispersion in Nonlinear Differential Equations",
contact person: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerald Teschl. We are looking for an independent, goal oriented scientist with research interests in the area of Riemann-Hilbert problems and application. The job holder's responsibilities include independent research and holding classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement and the usual administrative duties.
Profile:
A Doctoral degree / PhD or similar qualification is required for all candidates as well as experience in research. Past research should be documented by publications in recognized scientific journals.
