The Technau group at the University of Vienna advertises the position of a
3-year postdoc as a member of the University Research platform SinCeReSt - Single cell regulation of stem cells (https://sincerest.univie.ac.at).
We are an active team of young researchers working on various aspects of the development and evolution of cnidarians. We offer a creative and open-minded climate and an appropriate salary according to the rules of the University of Vienna. Active participation in research, teaching and administration. The candidate must have a PhD in Biology, with an emphasis in Developmental Biology. He/she should have postdoctoral experience abroad. The successful candidate is expected to have routine in molecular biology (e.g. cloning, in situ hybridization, antibody staining), microinjection and imaging of live and fixed specimen by confocal microscopy as well as the experience with the generation of transgenics and mutants by CRISPR/Cas9.
Ideally, the candidate has also used single cell transcriptome and bulk transcriptome data and is skillful in basic bioinformatic analyses. Experience with ChIP-seq or ATAC-seq is desirable. The candidate should have worked either on the development of a cnidarian or of a vertebrate or invertebrate model organism.
