The research group of Prof. Ina Bergheim, Molecular Nutritional Sciences, Department of Nutritional Sciences is looking for support of interdisciplinary research project in the thematic field of metabolic liver diseases. We are a young and interdisciplinary research team working at the interfaces between nutrition and the development of metabolic diseases. We build on a good working atmosphere, close collaboration with our students and self-dependent involvement and coordination of research projects. Duration of contract: 4 years.
You will be responsible for the conceptualisation, co-coordination and co-supervision of studies in model organisms and humans focusing on the role of alcohol metabolism in metabolic liver diseases. Participation in paper writing and publication is expected. In addition, participation in teaching and examinations with in the requirements of the collective agreement is expected. The successfull candidate is expected to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. The position is intended to lead to a PhD thesis typically in form of cumulative publications.
Master or Diploma in the field of Nutritional Sciences with a Master thesis preferably with a focus on metabolic diseases - Lifely interested in science - good knowledge in nutritional physiology and biochemistry - First experiences with molecular methods e.g. PCR, Western blot and immunohistochemistry.
ability to communicate in German and English - high interpersonal skills - ability to independently and under pressure - ability to work independently and a high level of motivation
