The Vienna Doctoral School in Physics (VDSP) offers up to three positions for doctoral candidates in Physics. With these fellowships, VDSP aims at financing excellent young researchers with the capability and interest to work between two complementary research fields. A large variety of intradisciplinary research proposals are offered (https://vds-physics.univie.ac.at/admission/funded-intradisciplinary-phd-projects). The best three candidates can receive a fellowship.
Duration of employment: 4 year/s
Extent of Employment: 30.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Participation in research, teaching and administration. Active participation in research projects and in publications. We expect the successful candidates to sign their doctoral thesis agreements within 12-18 months, to become members of the Vienna Doctoral School in Physics, and to actively participate in its activities. Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement.
Profile:
- MSc or equivalent in a field of study present or related to the VDSP. This requirement needs to be fulfilled until the start of the employment.
